Heavy impact comes in all shapes and sizes, whether the dropping of meat hooks in an abattoir, steel kegs falling off a line in a brewery or the dropping of tools and access covers during maintenance. Chemical Resistance

Aggressive chemicals are encountered in many industries that will attack and erode many of the materials used to make floors. In the food industry, for example, many animal and vegetable products can be very aggressive organic acids while strong alkalis and mineral acids together with a range of peroxides and surfactants are widely used for cleaning. Ucrete was designed with chemical resistance in mind and is widely used to line bunds, drains and sumps in the chemical industry to help ensure containment and protect the environment.

Thermal Resistance

Thermal shock can cause many types of floors to fail due to softening and erosion or through delamination. It occurs wherever there is a very rapid change of temperature. This is most frequently encountered where there is spillage or discharge of high temperature liquids onto the floor, for example under frying lines or during the part cooking and quenching of vegetables. Ucrete flooring solutions are ideally suited for such environments, withstanding regular and routine discharges of boiling water. Depending on specification, Ucrete flooring is thermal shock resistant from -40 °C up to +130 °C.

Hygiene

The cleanability of a floor is of utmost importance to ensure a safe and attractive working environment. Ucrete flooring can be effectively sanitized to a standard comparable to stainless steel. It is dense, impervious and non-biodegradable, thus will not support bacterial or fungal growth. Ucrete flooring solutions are used throughout the food and pharmaceutical industry where the highest standards of hygiene are required.

Fast Return to Service

Sometimes stopping production is really not an option. Ucrete flooring solutions are tolerant of substrate moisture and non-tainting straight from the mixer With a range of specifications that give rapid cure at chill temperatures they can be put back into service after 5 hours at 10°C. Ucrete is ideal for overnight installation. Not an emergency patch repair but a proper Ucrete floor – fast!
